The Sustainability Strategy we are designing to create long-term value by ensuring our activity is viable, socially responsible, and environmentally respectful. This is all within the framework of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Carbon Footprint as a Starting Point
At Afectivo, we are aware that the Carbon Footprint is the quantitative basis on which a solid, credible, and aligned sustainability strategy is built to meet current climate challenges. Without a footprint, there is no real impact management, and without a strategy, the footprint does not generate transformation.
That is why, a few months before our first year of operation and in accordance with Real Decreto 214/2025, we have begun estimating our Carbon Footprint with the aim of voluntarily registering it with the Spanish Office for Climate Change of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
Afectivo’s Carbon Footprint follows the calculation methodology of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (“GHG Protocol”) and includes all activities carried out in our Madrid office, considering all direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) CO2 emissions.
Let’s Talk about Air Quality
For Afectivo, air quality is one of the strategic elements that directly links environmental impact with the long-term health and well-being of the people in our organization. Its effective management makes sustainability tangible in our daily lives.
Last March, we acquired a Nanoenvi IAQ analyzer to monitor in real-time: environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure), the Environmental Indoor Air Quality Index (IAQI), the thermal comfort index (TCI), CO2 emissions, and atmospheric pollutants (CO, VOCs, UFPs, PM2.5, PM10) inside our office (Indoor air pollution). The average values achieved are close to the levels recommended by the World Health Organization.

Digital Sustainability to Achieve Zero-Emission Goals
Several initiatives, such as Website Carbon developed by Wholegrain Digital (WD) in collaboration with SWD, promote the responsible and efficient use of the internet, contributing to the decarbonization of the sector. The high energy consumption of global internet use is imminent; according to WD, the network consumes 1,021 TWh/year.
Afectivo has obtained a Carbon rating of C in the assessment provided by Website Carbon, which confirms our commitment to reducing the carbon impact of our corporate website. We run on sustainable energy from our hosting provider Krystal, a company committed to sustainability and 100% green energy, and we are among the cleanest 43% of websites worldwide.
