It has been a year since we officially started the adventure of Afectivo.
During this time, we have built strategic alliances, explored new technological frontiers, and supported both the creative and technical communities.
Blog Content and Initiatives
Throughout this past year, our blog has served as a space for reflection and technical outreach. We have addressed key topics for the future of software development and technology:
- Local AI: Exploring artificial intelligence models running locally, prioritizing performance, privacy, and full control over creative processes.
- Technological Neutrality: An open approach to integrating tools and standards to foster adaptable ecosystems.
- Sustainable and Ethical Vision: Analyzing the environmental impact of digital technologies and adopting responsible practices.
Joining the Carabanchel Business Incubator
Since April, we have been part of the business community at the Vivero de Empresas de Carabanchel. The Madrid City Council, through Madrid Emprende, has provided us with the opportunity to have a coworking space key to the launch of our operations, facilitating knowledge exchange with other startup companies and industry professionals.
We are deeply grateful for the support received during this period and look forward to continuing to consolidate our presence in their (our) spaces.
You can learn more about the Madrid City Council’s entrepreneurship support network through its official platform or watch their Vivero presentation video.

Presence at Industry Events: South Summit and Sónar+D
Active participation in the entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem is a priority for us.
During the first half of the year, we attended South Summit Madrid and Sónar+D Barcelona, establishing strategic contacts and sharing our vision on technology. Over the coming year, we will continue attending key industry events to expand our network of collaborators.

Supporting Young Professionals: Academic Alliances with Madrid Universities
In July, we signed two educational cooperation agreements with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), welcoming Leyi Qiang and Jordan Bomolo Ikukele Mia as interns.
Their joining has been highly enriching for the team, as they actively collaborate on research focused on local AI model performance, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act), and the architecture of Afecto, our audio and music workflows orchestrator.

Mentoring and Boosting Emerging Talent: UPF SMC and ADC
As part of our social commitment, we offer free professional mentorships geared towards students and emerging profiles.
This year, our CEO Jorge García participated as a mentor in two high-impact programs within the audiovisual and technology industry: the mentorship program of the Master in Sound and Music Computing at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF SMC) and the mentoring program of the Audio Developer Conference (ADC).
Environmental Commitment: Carbon Footprint Calculation
At Afectivo, we are in the process of defining our Carbon Footprint Baseline for regular monitoring, in compliance with Royal Decree 214/2025. The calculated emissions for Scopes 1 and 2 in the first half of 2026 are around 0.3 tCO₂e, utilizing the GHG Protocol methodology and following the guidelines of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
Our next goal is to officially register our footprint at the end of the annual fiscal period, alongside a 5-year reduction plan. Although this registry remains voluntary for startups of our profile and size, we consider it essential to go beyond mere measurement and execute concrete actions for the mitigation of Greenhouse Gases (GHG).
For more information on the registration process and applicable regulations, you can check the official resources on the Registry of carbon footprint, offset, and absorption projects.
International Success Case: Technology Consulting for Hook Media (USA)
In terms of specialized consulting, we supported the US startup Hook Media (based in New York) in developing their technology architecture. We are thrilled to celebrate the milestone reached by the company after closing a $10 million Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures, as well as signing their strategic agreement with Universal Music Group to boost fan-based music creation.

Launch of ReAfecto
September 21st 2026, marked a milestone with the launch of ReAfecto.
Our tool allows users to design audio workflows using a node-based visual editor integrated with the digital audio workstation (DAW) Reaper. During its first few days of availability, dozens of users have begun exploring and using the tool in their productions.
You can learn more details and download the tool on the official ReAfecto website.

Acknowledgements
